Bathroom progress

Our recent renovation highlight reel.

At Alpha 1 Builders, we know that renovations, additions, and extensions are more than just building projects—they’re life-changing journeys!

As such, our mission is simple: Craftsmanship that wins awards - Renovations that respect your budget.

Looking back on some of our recent renovations, we feel a huge sense of achievement.  Check out some of our favourite spaces in these beautiful, warm family homes.

Arts & Crafts home in Mt Eden

Mark & Shelley's Mt Eden character-filled home had oodles of charm, but was disconnected from the garden, dark, and dated.

Working with Yellow Fox Designs & Jones Architects, we created a refreshed home that has a beautiful connection to their garden.  The entire home has been refreshed and is ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Here you can see the timeless style sweeps into the living room, creating a light, bright, yet warm space.  Timeless style that highlights the character features of the home. The entire home is now as charming as its curbside appeal.  At Alpha 1, we feel privileged to preserve these pieces of history in Central Auckland.  See more of this project here.

Mt Albert Bungalow renovation & cathedral-style extension.

The extension of this home has created a wonderful light-filled space of church like proportions.  With the largest timber sliders to date for both ourselves and Next Level Joinery.

It was a huge undertaking that was well worth it!  This home received a Gold award at the 2025 Master Builders Awards.

Highlighting the craftsmanship and care that went into the project.  See more of the project here.

Paul and Katherine bought the home for it's location and leafy outlook.  The entire home was trapped in the 70's like a time capsule complete with a mustard clawfoot bath! The home is now perfect for their busy family and ready to stand proud for another 100 years.

Mt Albert Bungalow renovation and addition.

This characterful bathroom mixes feature tiles in sage green with grooved panelling in dusty grey to create a soft and inviting room.

The brass warms the space, and the shaker cabinets continue the bungalow style cohesively.

Another Gold award-winning project at the 25 Master Builders Awards.

Before the renovation, this 1930s bungalow had been stripped of all character features and was filled with unsympathetic 70s alterations.  Now it shines! See more of the project here

Below is the kitchen carrying on the soft colours and shaker style character cabinets in the kitchen/dining, and butlers.
